High Engagement Surrounding Infinity War Shows How Crazy Indonesian Social Media is About Marvel

2018 has been a great year for Marvel fans. After joining the Wakanda army led by Black Panther in last February, today they will rejoice as Avengers: Infinity War is officially released. The worldwide premiere actually takes place on April 27th, but Indonesia gets to see the film a couple days early. How lucky are we?

Avengers: Infinity War isn’t just another Marvel movie. It’s the movie people have been anticipating since ten years ago. All of the events you have witnessed since Iron Man (2008) led to this moment. It’s not surprising that Avengers: Infinity War creates such an unprecedented hype.

Did you know that this movie marks the 10-year anniversary of MCU? The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) began with the release of Iron Man in 2008. That’s why Avengers: Infinity War is so special because this movie also marks the 10-year anniversary of MCU. It’s also the third installment of the Avengers franchise and the 19th Marvel Studios film to date. So, in some ways, Avengers: Infinity War has become a huge milestone in the MCU’s cinematic journey for the past ten years. Not to mention, it brings together a lot of the public’s favorite Marvel Heroes. Yep, we all know it’s going to be that great moment where good teams up together to defeat evil.

Not only does Infinity War brings together the heroes, but apparently it brings together the common folks on social. There’s no secret how much buzz this movie is generating on a global scale, but we’re curious to see how much buzz Infinity War actually generating from the local Indonesian side of the Twitter-verse. We took a closer look at the keywords “Avengers”, “Infinity wars” and “Infinity War” to find out just just how big of a buzz is surrounding the premiere week including the exciting weekend of this movie in our part of the Twitter world. Sonar monitored these precise keywords for this part week until today (April 20th – 30th 2018) to find that there were 15.801 posts that generated 45.539 engagement on Twitter and blogs. Sonar’s monitoring captured the number of local buzz surrounding these posts and it was quite incredible. Our tool showed the total buzz of 361.340, April 26th and 29th being the peak in terms of daily buzz amongst netizen in Indonesia. With numbers like these, it wouldn’t be surprising of the potential reach of these posts could be up to the scale of Millions or even surpassing that even if impressions and interactions continue to increase inslign with the increasing number of post even after our monitoring period. MARVELous, right?
